₹51.62 crore worth of narcotics seized, 171 apprehended by Police over past 5 months in Baramulla
In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Baramulla Police District reported significant progress in apprehending peddlers and seizing illegal drugs over the past five months (January-May 2024).

According to police, a total of 95 cases were registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act during this period. The relentless efforts by the police resulted in the arrest of 171 individuals involved in the drug trade.
The crackdown also led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of drugs, including heroin, brown sugar, charas, cannabis powder, prescription drugs like Spasmo Proxyvon Plus and Codeine Phosphate. The total estimated value of the seized contraband in the black market is a staggering ₹51.62 crore.
