1 killed in tanker crash on Jammu-Srinagar highway in Udhampur

One person was killed early morning today when a tanker truck collided with a hillside near Moud Passi, along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

The Udhampur Police confirmed the fatality but withheld the identity of the deceased. The body was transported to the Government Medical College, Udhampur for autopsy.

Emergency services and law enforcement personnel responded swiftly to the scene. While the investigation is ongoing, preliminary reports suggest the tanker driver lost control and veered off the road.

“A thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the accident and any contributing factors,” Udhampur Police assured.
