112 Bovine Smugglers arrested in short span: SSP Samba
SAMBA, 9 January 2024: Continuing stringent legal action against bovine smugglers, Samba police has arrested three notorious bovine smugglers in three different bovine smuggling cases registered at Police Station Samba and Police Station Ghagwal.
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Aijaz Ahmed Lone s/o Abdul Hameed Lone r/o Shankar Pora district Anantnag, Makhan Din s/o Mohd Ashraf r/o Ramkot district Kathua and Maskeen Ali s/o Sai r/o Sundla tehsil Majalta district Udhampur A/P Saril Pai Gujjar Basti tehsil Marheen district Kathua.
Bovine smuggler namely Aijaz Ahmed Lone has been arrested in case FIR No. 07/2024 u/s 188, 279, 429 IPC, 11 PCA Act registered at PS Samba whereas bovine smugglers namely Makhan Din and Maskeen Ali have been arrested in case FIR No. 117 /2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act and FIR No. 122 /2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act respectively registered at Police Station Ghagwal through Police Post Rajpura.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, a total of one hundred twelve (112) notorious bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in short span of time after the launch of special drive, ninety two (92) FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, eighty (80) vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and eight hundred fifty two (852) bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
