15-Day Hindi Pakhwada celebration concludes at IIMC Jammu

Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Jammu successfully concluded its Hindi Pakhwada closing ceremony. The program celebrated the significance of Hindi as a language and medium of communication, reflecting IIMC’s commitment to promoting linguistic diversity and cultural heritage. The program was moderated by academic associates Mr. Rajiv Kumar and Mr. Gulshan Kumar.

The event began with a soulful Saraswati Vandana performed by the students. The esteemed guests of honor Shri Amrendra Gupta, Senior Reporter, DD News, and Dr. R.P. Prajapat, were formally welcomed by Dr. Dilip Kumar, Regional Director, IIMC Jammu. He congratulated the students for participating and putting in the efforts to make the event a success.

Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, assistant, delivered the complete report of the 15-day-long Hindi Pakhwada event, covering all the activities. A video report made by students of Digital Media, Anuja Jain and Tamanna Ranjan, was also shared during the event. Besides, students from different departments shared their experience of the 15-day-long learnings through the Hindi Pakhwada. They highlighted how it helped them develop skills like teamwork and dedication.

The special guest of the closing event, Amrendra Gupta, urged the students to never stop learning. He asked students to be creative and learn continuously. He also shared his insights from the industry as a parliamentary news reporter. He emphasized how getting involved in parliament by watching it is the only way to know more about it. He stated, “When you get in the field, you only have your skills, and having a clear vision and knowing your strength is very important.” He added the need to read the editorial to enrich knowledge for survival in the field. He also asked students to always keep a journalist alive in them.

The event was followed by Dr. R.P. Prajapat addressing the session. He encouraged the students to accept Hindi in its purest form and feel proud of the language.

A grand prize distribution ceremony took place, announcing the winners of various competitions. Indrajeet, Mohit, Nikhil, and Param (Hindi Journalism) secured first position in the Radio Jingle competition, whereas Bhawana Chand and English (English Journalism) and Rahul Yadav (Hindi Journalism) secured second and third place.

Siddharth Maurya (Hindi Journalism) won the debate competition with Anamika Pandey (Digital Media) in second and Pawan Yadav (English Journalism) in third place.

In the Hindi essay writing competition, Siddharth Maurya (Hindi Journalism) came first. Nikhil Nayan (Hindi Journalism) stood second, and Himanshi Bora (Hindi Journalism) stood third.

The Tankan competition was organized for the teaching and non-teaching staff, in which Mr. Gulshan Kumar secured first, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar second, and Mr. Rajiv Kumar secured third place.

Dr. Vinit Kumar Jha Utpal, Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator, Digital Media, delivered the vote of thanks. He warmly congratulated the students and motivated the participants to keep putting in efforts for victory. The event was attended by Dr. Ravia Gupta, Assistant Professor; Mr. Vishv, Assistant Professor; Anoop Wattal, Senior Office Assistant; and Mr. Madhusudhan, Course Coordinator, Digital Media.
