15-Days Workshop on Personality Development and Communication Skills Concludes at Jammu University
JAMMU, July 21:The 15-day workshop on personality development and communication skills, which commenced on July 3, 2023, at Jammu University’s Center for IT enabled Services and Management, concluded here today with resounding success. The workshop was organized by the Skill Development and Career Planning Vertical of SIIEDC. It was a path breaking initiative under the visionary guidance of Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, JU who is making a painstaking effort to engage the University with the Civil Society, dissolve boundaries and accrue the benefits of the University learning environment to the general public, making the workshop as first of its kind by SIIEDC, which was open to all ages and the general public, attracting participants from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
The workshop featured prominent academicians and experts from the field of communication skills as resource persons, ensuring the participants received the best guidance and knowledge. The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance the participants’ personality traits and communication skills to empower them for personal and professional growth.
Prof. Alka Sharma, Director of Skill Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development Center (SIIEDC), addressed the gathering during the concluding ceremony. She expressed her satisfaction with the workshop’s outcome and informed the audience that the center would continue to organize such programs, not only for the students of the University of Jammu but also for the broader public.
Speaking about the SIIEDC, Prof. Sharma highlighted its dedicated efforts to develop an enabling environment for young entrepreneurs. “The center’s mandate encompasses skill development, creating awareness about commercializing the acquired skills, and providing support through incubation opportunities for sustainable entrepreneurship,” Prof Alka Sharma said.
Participants were enthusiastic about their experiences and shared how the workshop had a profound impact on their overall personality and communication abilities. Many participants expressed their desire to participate in similar workshops organized by the center and urged the organizers to make it a regular feature. Among others present were Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Dr. Garima Gupta, Dr. Farah Choudhary, Ruquaiya, and Arjun.
