2 arrested in Kulgam as police seize tractors in illegal mining raid
In a move to curb illegal mining activities, Kulgam Police, under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam, seized two tractors and arrested two drivers.

The police party, acting on a tip-off, apprehended the drivers who were allegedly involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Kandi Nala, near Sarmarg. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohd Asif Malik and Nadeem Ahmad Malik, both residents of DK Marag.
A case (FIR No. 22/2024) has been registered against the accused under Sections 379 (theft) and 431 (mischief by injury to public road, waterway, bridge or landmark or telegraph line) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the DH Pora Police Station.
Investigations are currently underway to gather further evidence and identify any potential accomplices.
