2 arrested with 8 kg Poppy Straw in Banihal

RAMBAN, 5 Janurary 2024: Cracking down heavily on Narcotics smuggling under *Operation Sanjeevani* Ramban Police under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban Mohita Sharma IPS, foiled a Narcotics smuggling bid at Nachlana, Banihal and arrested two persons with Poppy Straw.

A police party of Police Station Banihal established a special at Nachlana NHW. During checking Police party signalled one Alto car bearing registration number JK06B-3566 coming from the Kashmir side towards Ramban.

On questioning the driver and one more occupant sitting in the car disclosed their identity as Firdaus Ahmed son of Mohd Akbar Wani resident of Mangota, District Doda and Mashkoor Ahmed son of Mohd Shafi Wani resident of Village Roat, Tehsil Marmat District Doda.

During the process of checking Poppy Straw weighing approximately 8 kilograms was recovered from the said car. A case FIR No 01/2024 U/s 8/15/16 NDPS registered at PS Banihal.
