2 Day District Level Seminar cum awareness on Scientific Beekeeping Commences at Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, MARCH 06: A two day District level seminar cum awareness workshop on scientific Beekeeping, organized by Agriculture Department under National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM), commenced today in the Auditorium of Govt Degree College.
The seminar was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav.
In his inaugural address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the role of modern technology in present day Beekeeping. He asked the young educated farmers, FPOs and SHG members of NRLM to come forward and take benefit from the government schemes in the field of Beekeeping under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).
He said that by adopting Beekeeping in addition to general farming compliments to the overall income of the farm operating families. He assured every possible help by District Administration to the beekeepers in market linkage chains and effective marketing.
Earlier, CAO Amjad Hussain Malik, besides other concerned officers and Resource person from Krishi Vigyan Kendra gave a detailed presentation on various interventions by the department for the promotion of Beekeeping in the region.
More than 200 farmers/Beekeepers besides the members of FPOs and NRLM, SHG attended the event and also expressed their views regarding the subject.
