2-day orientation programme for freshers concludes at GCW Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, September 19: Two day Orientation programme for freshers concluded at Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur, here today.
The Orientation programme was organized by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GCW Udhampur to make the freshers aware about college teaching, functioning and other prospects for newly admitted students of semester 1st session 2023-24.
Prof. Anjali Mahajan, Principal, GCW Udhampur briefed about the programme and said that it plays an important role in student’s transition to college life. The programme aimed at familiarizing the students to an unknown campus environment, its faculties and infrastructure. It helps them to find their way in the college for the next three years and also encourages them to get better adjusted to the college environment, she added.
Students were also informed about the rules & regulations, campus safety and the academic calendar. Prof. Anjali Mahajan, Principal, GCW Udhampur, motivated the students and wished them Good Luck for their bright and glorious future.
During the orientation programme, students were also informed about the various cells and their activities including IQAC, NCC, NSS, Cultural Cell, infrastructural facilities, E-lib, extracurricular activities, sports, e- learning resources, and the college culture. They were made to understand their role and responsibilities during college life. Therefore, in order to give the most accurate view of an institution, there must be both an academic and social component to the orientation program.
The programme was attended by Prof. Anita Sharma, Convener, IQAC, Prof. Sumita Rao, DSW, Prof. Rajinder Singh, NSS PO, Prof. Paramjeet Singh, Dr. Kamal Deep Kaur, ANO NCC, Prof. Rukhsana Kousar, Prof. Tania Mahajan, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and a large number of freshers.
