2 Drug Peddlers nabbed with 65.94 gm Heroin, vehicle seized in Kathua

KATHUA; 17 February 2024: Kathua Police while continuing its “War on Drugs” put concrete efforts to eradicate the drug menace from society and in consequence, District Police Kathua recovered/seized approx. 65.94 Grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics alongwith one vehicle in the jurisdictional area of P/S Rajbagh & Kathua and two drug peddlers were arrested in this connection.

In the first instance on 16.02.2024 an information was received at Police Station Rajbagh that four persons namely 1.Farman S/o Mohd. Sharief R/o Sunjwan 2. Bhag Ali S/o Ali R/o Chak Dhari 3. Sultan S/o Alam Din R/o Chak Wajir Labju 4. Sultan S/o Ali Mohd. All R/o Marheen indulged in illegal smuggling/selling of heroin like contraband and coming from Khanpur towards Haria Chak on a vehicle bearing Reg. No. PB02AQ-0021 driven by Bhag Ali.

Acting swiftly a police team headed by SHO PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border laid a naka for checking and arrested one drug peddler namely Farman Ali S/o Mohd. Sharief R/o Sunjwan Kathua with approx. 58 grams Heroin (chitta) like narcotics whereas other three accused were managed to escape from the spot. On this a case vide FIR No. 43/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ 29/NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Rajbagh and further investigation was set into probe.

While in the second instance, on 16/02/2024 an information has been received from the reliable sources at PP Nagri that one person namely Raj Kumar S/o Janak Raj R/o Chak Drab Khan Kathua is indulged in illegal trade of selling narcotics like contraband.

Acting swiftly the police team led by IC PP Nagri under the guidance of DySP Headquarters Kathua & SHO PS Kathua during routine naka/checking in its jurisdictional area apprehended one person namely 1. Raj Kumar S/o Janak Raj R/o Chak Drab Khan Kathua who was indulged in the illegal smuggling/selling heroin (chitta) like narcotics and enrouted under suspicious circumstances. During checking the police team was able to recover approx. 7.94 grams of heroin like narcotics from his illegal possession which he had kept in order to gain wrongful gain.
