2 peddlers held with 14.80 gm heroin in Akhnoor

JAMMU, February 21: Continuing the drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 14.80 grams of heroin including 10.5 grams of heroin in the jurisdiction of PS Akhnoor and 4.30 grams of heroin in the jurisdiction of PS Bishnah.

Police team of PS Akhnoor led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma assisted by SHO PS Akhnoor Inspr Harjeet Singh and I/C PP Jourian PSI Karnail Singh while on Naka duty near Shunna Chowk Jourian rounded up a suspect identified as Mohd Mushtaq S/O Mohd Mansha R/O village Bawa Talab tehsil Marh district Jammu who was coming from Trootis side towards Jourian Market side. During search, 10.50 grams of heroin got recovered from his possession.

In this regard, a case FIR number 57/2023 under section 8/21/22/ NDPS Act got registered at PS Akhnoor and accused got arrested.

Similarly another police team of PS Bishnah led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh assisted by SHO PS Bishnah Inspr Vikram Sharma while on naka duty near Deoli Bishnah rounded up a suspect namely:- Sunil Kumar @ Lucky S/o Kala Ram R/o Chumbian Brahmama , Tehsil Bishnah , Distt Jammu who was coming from Partap Singh Pura towards Bishnah side. During search, 4.30 grams of heroin got recovered from his possession.

In this regard, a Case FIR number 51/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act got registered at PS Bishnah and accused got arrested.

Further investigation of the cases is going on.
