22000 adult learners took part in second FLNAT conducted in both districts of Leh and Kargil
Leh, August 7: Second Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test (FLNAT) was conducted on August 6 under New India Literacy Programme (Nav Bharat Saksharata Karyakram).
The test was conducted at 620 Assessment Centres for 22000 Adult Learners in both districts of Leh and Kargil of UT Ladakh.
School Education Department UT Ladakh deployed 1652 supervisory staff for smooth and fair conduct of the Assessment Test. Varsha Singh and Nishan Chakarbarty were nominated as observers from the Ministry of Education for Leh and Kargil districts of UT Ladakh. The Observers visited various Assessment Centers to monitor/inspect the activities of Foundation Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test and smooth conduct of test in Ladakh.
Director School Education, Tsering Paldan also visited various centres and interacted with the adult learners during the assessment test.
Director School Education appreciated the role of Chief Education Officers, Zonal Education Officers, District Coordinators NILP, and field functionaries especially the voluntary trainers (VT) implementation of New India Literacy program in the UT.
The Administration of UT Ladakh identified 32042 illiterate population through an internal survey conducted by the School Education Department. Adult learners were enthusiastic and passionate during the assessment test on the learning outcomes of the literacy classes.
Under the New India Literacy Programme (Nav Bharat Saksharata Karyakram) scheme, 200 hours study on the course FLN have been imparted through critical life skills to all illiterate persons in the age group of 15 years in UT of Ladakh.
District-level Monitoring Teams under Chief Education Officers and Zonal level Monitoring Teams under Zonal Education Officers were constituted to
monitor fair conduct of Assessment Tests at all identified Centers of UT Ladakh.
