240 cases approved under PM Vishwakarma Scheme in Doda
DC asks to extend benefits to all artisans, craftspeople
DODA, January 04: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh chaired a meeting in the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, to evaluate the implementation of the PM Vishwakarma scheme in the district. GM DIC Doda, Idrees Lone, presented a comprehensive overview, stating that 240 cases have been approved at the district level committee after thorough second-level verification.
The DC emphasized the importance of concerted efforts and urged officers to promptly identify and register targeted beneficiaries. Stressing the scheme’s significance in uplifting traditional artisans and craftspeople, the DC instructed officers to conduct an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign with PRIs’ support to raise awareness.
During a virtual interaction with Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Director IEDS, the DC highlighted that 240 cases of eligible beneficiaries have been approved under the Vishwakarma Scheme. The DC also urged the Assistant Director to organize a camp in Doda to showcase other crucial employment-generating schemes, benefiting the unemployed youth in the district.
The meeting saw the participation of ACP Doda, CPO Doda, GM of DIC Doda, LDM, the Heads of ITIs in Doda, Bhaderwah, and Gandoh, EOs of Doda, Bhaderwah, and Thathri, along with officials from concerned departments. The collective effort aims to ensure the scheme’s success and enhance employment opportunities for the district’s residents.
