26 farmers flagged off on an exposure tour to Ludhiana

Participants to learn about processing of Wool and Pelt

JAMMU, DECEMBER 13: Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary today flagged off a group of 26 farmers on an exposure tour to Ludhiana (Punjab) to learn processing of Wool and Pelt and its effective Marketing. The tour has been hosted under the Holistic Agricultural Development Programme (HADP).

The Director advised the farmers to take maximum benefits from this tour and learn best practices of Wool & Pelt from the experts during their stay at Ludhiana w.e.f. 13-12-2023 to 15-12-2023. Further, the Director underlined that the objective of such exposure tour is to make farmers aware of the latest technological intervention in the field of Wool & Pelt to achieve the targets and goals. The Farmers were advised to replicate the new technology in their respected areas that they will learn during the visit and further share it with other fellow members/farmers. He said under the Holistic Agricultural Development Programme (HADP) special attention has been given to the capacity building of farmers and to achieve this target a number of programs have been devised.

Dr. Pritam Manhas, Principal Training Class Kartholi a Team Leader and  Dr. Vijay Kumar Officer Incharge Training Class Kartholi also accompanying the farmers during the exposure visit.

Those who were present on the occasion  included Dr. Surinder Gupta Deputy Director (Central), Dr. Anil Kumar Kaul (APO Jammu/Wardwan), Mr. Satish Sharma (Deputy Director F&F), Dr. Nasir Altaf Zargar, Technical Officer, Dr. Pankaj Sharma Store Officer and  Mr. Asheesh Sharma, Publicity Officer Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu, besides officers/officials of the Department.
