2nd International Conference on Materials for Sustainable Development and Technologies (ICMSDT-2024) Concludes Second Day with Inspiring Talks and Cultural Celebration
Jammu, 02nd May 2024: The Department of Nanoscience successfully concluded the second day of the International Conference on Materials for Sustainable Development and Technologies, a groundbreaking event that brought together leading researchers, scholars, and experts in the field of sustainability from across the globe. The conference, which began on 01 may and will run until 3rd may, has been a platform for insightful discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration towards a sustainable future.
The second day of the conference commenced with a series of engaging sessions, starting with a captivating plenary talk delivered by a distinguished speaker. This was followed by thought-provoking invited talks and oral presentations that explored various facets of sustainability, from environmental conservation to socio-economic development.
One of the highlights of the day was the poster presentation session, where researchers and scholars from abroad and across the country showcased their innovative work and research findings.
In the spirit of fostering cultural exchange and camaraderie, a vibrant cultural evening was organized with the generous support of Prof. Ritu Bakshi, Dean Student Welfare, Central University of Jammu. She conveyed her gratitude for the support of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain in inspiring and endorsing this cultural event at Central University of Jammu.
Folk dances from Jammu, Kashmir and Punjab are among the cultural dance performances included at this event. The Nitya Roots Dance groups showcased these vibrant dances, brought to life by the talented direction of Mr. Aakash Dogra, who skillfully choreographed the performances. Furthermore, Vishaka Bhardwaj and the esteemed vocalist Mr. Sunil Sharma, known as J&K’s Kishore Kumar, demonstrate their exceptional vocal talents. Finally, the talented senior artist Proshtam Kumar on tabla and Darshan Taroch on guitar created a beautiful and harmonious evening. Mr. Sanjeev Raina, the secretary of the J&K Academy of Art and Culture, is the driving force behind this extraordinary cultural event.
The cultural evening provided a refreshing break and an opportunity for participants to unwind and network in a relaxed atmosphere.
Prof. Vinay Kumar, Dean of Applied and Basic Sciences, presented a significant recognition to the artists who showcased their talent during the cultural evening.
