2nd National Lok Adalat settles 118 cases in Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, MAY 14: District Legal Services Authority & Tehsil Legal Services Authority Kishtwar, organised 2nd National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Kishtwar.
The Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Principal District Sessions Judge, Manjeet Manhas & CJM Mahmud Anwar Alnasir, in presence of bar members and litigants.
Two benches were constituted and Lok Adalat took up 175 cases out of which 118 were settled.
An amount of Rs.7726595.00 was realised and distributed on spot amongst the litigants in MACT Claim and Bank settlement of loans, while as an amount of Rs.10000.0 was realised as fine in petty/ summary trial offences, which were compounded on spot. Apart from this eleven matrimonial disputes were settled on spot.
Later, Justice Tashi Rabastan, Judge High Court of Jammu & Kashmir And Ladakh, who is also Chairperson State Legal Services Authority, distributed the settled claim amount on the spot amongst the litigants.
Justice Tashi Rabastan also visited ‘Bal Ashram’, District Jail Kishtwar and ‘Place of Safety’ at Hidyal and also Aashiana–a home for destitute children run by a Local NGO. Justice Tashi also interacted with the members of the Bar and Local Administration.
Amongst others, those who attended the Lok Adalat included, Member Secretary SLSA J&K and Ladakh, Mr. Amit Gupta, Dr. Devansh Yadav DC Kishtwar, Addl SP Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh and DySP DAR Sajjad Khan, Bar President I.H. Hamal , OP Parihar, and members of the Legal fraternity.
