3 held for posting objectionable content on social media in Reasi
Taking swift action against online hate speech, the District Police Reasi has registered two FIRs and arrested three individuals for posting objectionable content on social media platforms. The arrests came as part of a targeted clampdown following directions from SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta.

One FIR, bearing number 19/2024, was registered at Reasi Police Station, while the other, numbered 04/2024, was registered at Arnas Police Station. Both cases fall under Section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with deliberate acts hurting religious sentiments or attempting to outrage religious feelings.
SSP Gupta issued a strong warning, advising people to refrain from posting any objectionable content on social media that could disrupt peace and harmony within the district. He emphasized that all social media platforms are being closely monitored, and anyone found posting material deemed provocative or hateful will face strict legal consequences.
The District Police also issued a broader appeal to the community, urging residents to maintain social harmony and avoid using social media as a tool for spreading hate, which could potentially damage the peaceful atmosphere of Reasi.
