34 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers held in Samba’s Mansar
SAMBA, 11 January 2024: Samba Police foiled a major bovine smuggling attempt at Mansar on Thursday, and arrested 2 notorious bovine smugglers, rescued 34 bovines and seized 2 trucks.
The arrested notorious bovine smugglers have been identified as Joginder Lal s/o Sain Das r/o Chatha, Satwari district Jammu and Rehmet Ali s/o Swar Din r/o Jakhar district Udhampur.
Two Cases — FIR No. 13/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act and FIR No.14/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Samba and an investigation is underway.
According to SSP Samba Benam Tosh, 114 notorious bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in a short period after the launch of the special drive, 94 FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, 82 vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and 886 bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
