364 students participates in zonal level inter school tournament in Khaltse
LEH, May 29: The zonal level inter-school tournament for Higher Secondary and High Schools (Boys & Girls) of Khaltse zone concluded at GHSS Khaltse, today, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Leh.
A total of 364 students including boys & girls of various HSS and HS of Khaltse zone participated in the tournament.
Executive Councillor (Agriculture) LAHDC Leh, Stanzin Chosphel was the chief guest whereas Tehsildar khaltse, Tanveer Ahmad was the guest of honor on the closing ceremony.
EC Agriculture, LAHDC Leh, Stanzin Chosphel highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities along with studies and urged the students to actively participate in sports to build their personalities and imbibe the qualities of team work and dedication. He also advised the students to participate in various sports. He informed that after the zonal level tournament, the qualified students will be playing in District, State and National level tournaments. Further, he appreciated DYSSO Leh, Tsering Tashi and all the Physical Education Teachers for organising the tournament successfully at zonal level.
Sports such as Archery, Handball, Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis, 100 Mtrs Race, 200 Mtrs Race,400 Mtrs Race,3 Km Race, 5 Km Race, Discus and Shotput were played during the tournament.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Leh also spoke on the occasion.
The final Handball match was played between Higher Secondary School Khaltse (Boys) and Higher Secondary Temisgam (Boys) in which Higher Secondary School Khaltse won by 12-05.
Later, EC, Stanzin Chosphel distributed prizes, medals and certificates to the winners.
BMO Khaltse, Dr. Nurboo Angchuk; BDO Khaltse, Pankaj Rajput; Principal GHSS Khaltse, Padma Yangchen; Principal GHSS Temisgam, Ziboon Nissa; Incharge SHO Khaltse, Ghulam Rasool; ZEPO Khaltse, Nawang Tsering; Physical Education Master/ Incharge from DYSS Leh, Tsewang Rigzin and all Physical Education Teachers and participants students from various Government Higher Secondary and High Schools of Khaltse zone were present on the event.
