37th Foundation-Day of APEDA celebrated at Kisan Kendra Jammu

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 13:  The 37th Foundation-Day of Agricultural and Processed Food Product Export Development Authority was celebrated today at Baba Jitto Kisan Kendra by APEDA Regional office Jammu in collaboration with Department of Agriculture Production and Famers welfare, Jammu.

Welcome address was presented by Joint Director Extension, S.C. Sharma, while DGM APEDA, Vanita Sudhanshu participated through virtual mode from APEDA Head Office Delhi.

The program was presided over by the Director Agriculture Jammu, K.K Sharma. He emphasised on the farmers to achieve Quality Assurance of Agriculture Products to make the same competitive in the international market.

The Business Development Manager, APEDA RO Jammu, Dr. Kausar Fatima highlighted the Mammoth Achievement of 13.77 Billion US Dollars within six months of the fiscal year 2022-23. She also informed that presently APEDA is exporting 700 products in more than 200 countries of the world.

 MD JKTPO Khalid Jhangir, appreciated the achievements of APEDA and also stressed upon the close coordination among all related organisations targeting Exports. The leading Exporter Gagan Jain mentioned that strengthening of the FPOs is the need of the hour as major focus is kept on Jammu and Kashmir.

The Assistant Chief Manager NABARD also listed the schemes which the FPOs can avail in Jammu and Kashmir. The whole Program was coordinated by Program Officer, Rajeev Katoch and culminated with vote of thanks by Joint Director Agriculture Extension.
