3rd Inspection of Expenditure Registers conducted at Shopian
SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 15: The third inspection of expenditure registers of contesting candidates for the 36-Zainapora and 37-Shopian constituencies was conducted today at the Circuit House Shopian.
The inspection was overseen by Expenditure Observer, Nelapatla Ashok Babu accompanied by Nodal Officer Expenditure, Muzaffar Ahmad Rather and Assistant Expenditure Observers (AEOs).
During the exercise, the expenditure registers of all contesting candidates were carefully examined and validated.
The Expenditure Observer reiterated the need for candidates to maintain accurate and up-to-date expenditure records, stressing that all expenses must be duly recorded in their registers and progressive expenditure be entered in registers.
He directed the candidates and their authorised agents that the expenditure monitoring and inspection process will not end but will continue even after the election results.
The Observer again reminded the candidates and their agents the importance of maintaining the correct accounts of expenditure booked and the upkeep of supporting documents such as bills, vouchers, and invoices on hand for final reconciliation of their accounts.
He reassured the candidates that the expenditure monitoring process is not only an essential part of ensuring fairness but also to ensure level playing field for the candidates in fray.
Nodal Officer Expenditure Muzaffar Ahmad Rather provided a comprehensive briefing on the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India regarding expenditure management, ensuring all candidates are aligned with the rules.
The Contesting Candidates appreciated the efforts of the whole expenditure monitoring team and expressed full satisfaction over their guidance during the entire process.
