3rd Meeting of Consortium of Higher Educational Institutions of North India (CHEINI) Convenes at Central University of Jammu

Jammu, 14th December 2024: The Consortium of Higher Educational Institutions of North India (CHEINI) held its 3^rd meeting at the Central University of Jammu on 14th December 2024. This collaborative platform, comprising seven premier institutions, aims to foster innovation, academic excellence, and research in the region. The Consortium partners are Central University of Punjab, Central University of Jammu, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Central University of Kashmir, Central University of Rajasthan, Central University of Haryana and Indian Institute of Technology Ropar.

The take aways from the meeting were very fruitful w.r.t offering dual degree programmes, joint degree programmes, sharing resources among the consortium institutes for academic and research purposes. Nodal officers were appointed to collaboration all the consortium partners to consolidate the further collaborations, organizing activities for the consortium partners.

The meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Prof. Sanjeev Jain Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu. Prof. Suram Singh, Dean Academics coordinated this meeting at the campus and presented a detailed agenda items for deliberations. Prof. Vinay Kumar presented a detailed presentation about the collocations which partner institutes can take with the research facilities available at CUJ.

Earlier Prof. Yashwant Singh Registrar of the University presented the brief introduction and achievements of the University. Prof. Jaya Bhasin presented the summary of the meeting whereas Prof. Vandana Sharma delivered the formal vote of thanks.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani, Prof Shahid Rasool of Central University of Kashmir, Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Prof. Surender Singh of Central University of Haryana, Prof. Dinesh Chandra Sharma, Prof Pradeep Verma of Central University of Rajasthan, Prof. Mohinder Singh, Prof. Pardeep Kumar and Prof. Pradeep Kumar of Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Prof. Ramakrishna Wusirika, Prof. Anjana Munshi and Prof. Monisha Dhiman of Central University of Punjab and Dr. Puneet Pasricha of Indian Institute of Technology Ropar

Other than the consortium partners the meeting was attended by Deans, Associate Deans, Controller of Examinations, HODs and Officials of CU Jammu.
