5-Day training of 1st Women Batch under PM Vishwakarma begins at Chanderkote Govt Polytechnic

RAMBAN, MARCH 05: In a significant step towards skill development and empowerment, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Varunjeet Singh Charak, today  inaugurate 5-day first batch  training session for 30 Women in Tailoring trade under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana at  Government Polytechnic College Chanderkote.

The training programme is being conducted under  the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary.

The inaugural batch of trainees expressed enthusiasm and gratitude for the opportunity to acquire valuable tailoring skills, which they believe will empower them to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.

The ADC urged participating artisans to harness the benefits of the government-sponsored Vishwakarma Scheme, emphasizing its potential to create dignified livelihoods. He highlighted the scheme as an optimal avenue for artisans to establish and expand their businesses. The primary objective of the program was the official launch of the Vishwakarma Scheme in the District, aimed at supporting small artisans and workers nationwide.

This initiative offers financial assistance, training, advanced techniques, and skill-related guidance, underscoring a collective effort to empower traditional artisans and preserve their invaluable skills.

General Manager DIC, Ravinder Anand,  CEO, Dev Anand, Principal Polytechnic Chanderkote, Vivek Mahajan, Superintendent ITI Ramban Parvez Iqbal, and other staff members were present on the occasion.

GM DIC shared that 3212 registrations have already been done under this scheme, reflecting a strong interest and participation of the artisans in the program. On the occasion,the Principal, GPC, Vivek Mahajan, General Manager, DIC, Ravinder Anand, Superintendent, ITI, Pervez Iqbal Bhat and CEO, Devanand educated the trainees about the scheme and motivated them to avail it’s full benefit to become self reliant and earn their livelihood
