5 e-Libraries ‘Ilam-Kosh’ to come up at different places in Rajouri District
RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 2: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri District, Vikas Kundal, today discussed the framework for opening of e-libraries in the border district. The e-libraries, named “Ilam-Kosh”, would be a digital version providing users with access to numerous volumes of books and resources.
The Ilam-Kosh e-libraries are being opened in different parts of the district and will be accessible via the specific official website.
It was informed in the meeting that the registration for using the e-libraries would be through online mode and the District NIC has been entrusted with the work to find the means.
The meeting decided that besides opening 5 e- libraries in the district a full-fledged library with all the books and journals will be made functional in the Office of the District Information centre Rajouri.
Ilam-Kosh e-libraries will be available to district residents and students, who would be able to search, download, read, and share books, reference materials, and multimedia content online. The e-libraries will also give students access to research materials and educational software, providing a convenient and cost-effective means of researching a variety of topics.
Special seminars; career counseling sessions would also be organized for the students who enroll in these libraries. The e-libraries will be equipped with high-speed internet, and sitting arrangements that are required in the libraries.
