5 FIRs registered against lodge owners in Katra for non-installation of CCTV cameras

KATRA, 1 March 2024: In compliance of District Magistrate Reasi order regarding CCTV Cameras must be installed in all Hotels, Lodge, Medical Shops etc. Reasi Police conducted a surprise checking at Katra.

During inspection of Hotels and Lodges, CCTV cameras have not found in 5 lodges. In this regard, five FIRs–67/2024, 68/2024, 69/2024,70/2024 and 71/2024 all under Section 188 IPC registered at Police Station Katra, against lodge owners who have not installed CCTV Cameras in their premises despite notification issued by District Magistrate Reasi.

District Magistrate Reasi had directed that CCTV cameras must be installed in all Hotels/Lodge, Medical Shops etc. The whole operation is led by SHO Katra.

SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma while sharing the information expressed that Reasi Police is committed to protect the property of citizens and further appealed to the owner of Hotels/Lodge, Medical Shops of Reasi District to make use of technology and install CCTV cameras in their premises for surveillance on criminal elements in the society.
