55 gm gold, cash ₹2 lakh recovered from 2 thieves in Kathua’s Hatli

KATHUA, 3 January 2024: Kathua Police under the supervision of SSP Shivdeep Singh Jamwal has solved a theft case by arresting 2 thieves and recovered stolen Golden ornaments–Golden Necklace, Ear Rings and Bangle (weighing about 55 grams) alongwith cash amount of Rs. 2,00,000/-(Two Lakh) from the offenders who were involved in the offence in the limits of PP Hatli.

On 4-6-2023 on the complaint of the complainant namely Makhan Singh S/o Chand Singh R/o Ward No. 21 Lane No. 06 Hatli Morh Kathua stated that on 02/06/2023 he alongwith his wife visited Gurdaspur and when they returned back on 03/06/223 they saw door was broken and golden items and some cash were stolen from their home for which a case vide FIR number 248/2023 U/S 454/380/ IPC in connection with theft has been registered at Police Station Kathua and further investigation started.

Acting on the same on 03/01/2024 police party led by SHO PS Kathua assisted by IC PP Hatli under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kathua today arrested two persons/ thieves who were evading their arrest. During sustained questioning these accused confessed their involvement and on their disclosure following stolen golden ornaments were recovered from the possession of said accused persons Imran Butt S/o Sheer Mohd. Butt Age 30 Years R/o Udhampur Sambal Chakhad A/P Kuta Morh and Amit Kumar S/o Jagdesh Kumar Age 20 Years R/o Ward No. 06 A/P Near CTM Gate Kathua in the above said case whereas further investigation of the case is going on and their involvement in any other case cannot be ruled out.
