5th District Level Yogasana Championship Kicks Off in Kathua
The 5th District Level Yogasana Championship, supported by the Sports Council of Jammu and Kashmir, commenced with great enthusiasm at Learning Temple School, Kathua. The first day witnessed an impressive turnout, with 220 participants from 25 schools across the district showcasing their yogasana skills.
Inaugurated by the school’s chairman Naresh Kumar and principal Pallavi Hans, the event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, setting the tone for the two-day competition. Participants, ranging from 6 to 45 years, were categorized into cadet, sub-junior, senior, and master divisions.
Under the supervision of National Yoga Referee Sunita Verma, the event saw fierce competition on the first day, with the finals set for Tuesday. The event was meticulously organized with jury members Angrez Singh, Monika Thakur, Rajni Verma, and Sneha Sharma overseeing the performances, while Verma will deliver the final verdicts.
Ashok Mangotra, Vice President of the Yogasana Sports Association Kathua, expressed optimism about the quality of the participants and praised the organizing team, including senior teacher Brij Mohini, Geeta Parihar, and Rimpy Verma, for managing the event
