6 arrested, vehicles seized for illegal mining in Srinagar

SRINAGAR June 16: J&K Police arrested six persons and seized 6 tippers/dumpers & 1 JCB/excavator machine for involvement in the illegal extraction and transportation of illegally mined material in Harwan area of Srinagar. A case has been registered under the relevant section at the concerned police station and further details are awaited.

Taking to twitter, Srinagar police officials posted “On the Basis of credible info regarding illegal extraction in Harwan area & transportation of this illegally mined material, 6 Persons arrested. 6 tippers/dumpers & 1 JCB/excavator machine Seized. FIR No. 30/2023 u/s 431,188,379 of IPC & 21(4) MMRD act registered in Harwan PS”.
