700 residents of Batote avail health services at free medical checkup camp
RAMBAN, February 25: A day-long Free Medical Camp was today organised by the Block Medical Officer Batote, Dr. Gurmeet Kour in the main market under the aegis of Health Department Ramban. As many as 700 patients were checked up by a team of 25 doctors.
Tehsildar Vijay Kumar Sharma, besides other officers and Prominent Citizens were also present on the occasion.
The doctors conducted examinations and investigations related to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) like cancer, hypertension, anaemia, cataract, diabetes and other diseases and free medicines were provided to the patients.
The patients of mental illnesses and de-addiction cases were examined by BMO, Dr.Gurmeet and senior doctor, Dr.Nirmolak Singh, a famous Sports Injury specialist from Jammu also examined the patients in the camp.
Doctors working under AYUSH and RBSK from other hospitals were also deputed for the camp
ABHA IDs for ABHA Cards were also generated on the occasion. Community Based Assessment Checking (CBAC) was also generated on NCD Portal. Awareness on general health and fitness was also imparted to the public.
The BMO said that the camp was as part of the government’s Outreach Programme to provide health services to the public, especially the shopkeepers who don’t find it necessary to visit hospitals and take care of their health.
The BMO said that he himself being a psychiatrist and de-addiction specialist, checked the patients of any mental illnesses and drug addiction. He thanked the administration and shopkeepers who fully cooperated in holding the camp.
Appreciating the initiative of the Health Department, people said that it was the first ever camp in Batote market of this scale where a record number of persons got benefitted”.
