72nd All India Police Hockey Championship: DGP urges best efforts as J&K Police gears up for memorable event
The Jammu and Kashmir Police is pulling out all the stops to ensure a successful and memorable hosting of the 72nd All India Police Hockey Championship, starting tomorrow. Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu & Kashmir, R.R. Swain, chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Police headquarters in Jammu to ensure the seamless execution of the event. The mega national event is set to host 34 police teams from various State/UTs and Central paramilitary forces, with an estimated participation of around 1000 players and officials.
During the meeting, DGP R.R. Swain urged every individual officer and unit to contribute their best efforts to make the championship a resounding success. Emphasizing the importance of providing a memorable experience for all participating athletes and support staff, he stressed the need for quality presentation and facilities throughout the event.
Considering the diverse origins of the participants, the DGP underscored the significance of well-coordinated arrangements and urged officers to ensure the best possible facilities. He called for efficient medical facilities to address the physical demands of the sport and highlighted the importance of coordination among different officers and units to enhance hospitality.
Various aspects of the championship, including accommodation, transportation, medical facilities, logistics, parking, publicity, and grounds, were identified as key focus areas during the meeting. The arrangements for opening and closing ceremonies were also thoroughly discussed and reviewed.
The ADGP Armed J&K, S.J.M Gillani who is also chairperson of the organizing committee briefed the DGP regarding the arrangements of the whole event including schedules of matches and connected programmes of the championship through a detailed powerpoint presentation.
Secretary JKSC, Nuzhat Gul while speaking on the occasion briefed about the assistance and support J&K Sports Council is extending for the event.
The meeting saw the attendance of several high-ranking officers, including ADGsP M.K Sinha, Sunil Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Anand Jain, IGP Armed Jammu M.N. Tiwari, DIG Sara Rizvi, Javaid Iqbal Matoo, SSP Jammu, PCR Jammu, Security Jammu, and Traffic Jammu, AIG (Welfare) and (Training & Policy), Medical Superintendent of Police Hospital Jammu, General Secretary Hockey J&K, Senior Vice president Hockey J&K, and Jammu-based JKAP/IR Commandants.
The 72nd All India Police Hockey Championship promises not only competitive matches but also colorful opening and closing ceremonies, along with various programs lined up for the participants and spectators alike. The event is set to showcase the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the law enforcement agencies from different parts of the country.
