Applauds India’s economic boom under Modi government

Senior BJP leader and spokesperson Tahir Choudhary lauded the remarkable economic transformation of India under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Comparing key economic indicators from 2014 to 2024, he asserted that the country’s progress is a testament to the BJP government’s vision, reforms, and corruption-free governance.

Dr Choudhary highlighted that tax exemption limits have increased significantly, benefiting the middle class.

 “In 2014, under the Congress-led UPA government, the tax exemption limit stood at just ₹2 lakh. Today, in 2025, the Modi government has raised it to ₹12 lakh, putting more money into the hands of taxpayers,” he said.

Addressing the issue of non-performing assets (NPAs), Dr Choudhary noted the drastic reduction from 11% in 2014 to just 0.6% in 2024.

 “Congress left behind a broken banking system. The Modi government cleaned up the mess, strengthened banks, and ensured financial discipline,” he remarked.

He also pointed out the massive jump in infrastructure spending, from ₹1.57 lakh crore during 2009-14 to a staggering ₹55 lakh crore for the period 2019-26. “From highways to railways, ports to airports, the Modi government has built a robust infrastructure network that is fueling India’s growth,” he stated.

Senior BJP leader emphasized that India’s wealth creation has skyrocketed under Modi’s governance.

“Between 2009 and 2014, India generated ₹13 lakh crore in wealth. In contrast, from 2019 to 2024, this number has surged to ₹310 lakh crore, proving the success of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s economic policies,” Choudhary explained.

Dr Tahir also highlighted the impressive growth in India’s foreign exchange reserves. “Under Congress, India added only $50 billion to its forex reserves from 2009 to 2014. Under Modi’s leadership, between 2019 and 2024, forex reserves have grown by $350 billion, ensuring economic stability,” he said.

Under the Congress-led UPA government in 2014, India ranked 10th in global GDP rankings.

“Today, in 2024, India stands as the 5th largest economy in the world, showcasing the BJP government’s commitment to economic growth and self-reliance,” he added.

Taking a strong dig at the Congress era, Dr Choudhary recalled that the UPA government was mired in scams.

 “Between 2009 and 2014, India witnessed 78 major scams. From 2019 to 2024, under Modi’s leadership, there has not been a single scam, proving that this government is committed to honesty, transparency, and good governance,” he asserted.

He said, “The numbers speak for themselves. The Congress era was marked by corruption, inefficiency, and economic mismanagement, while the Modi government has delivered growth, stability, and prosperity for all. India is on its way to becoming a global powerhouse.”

He urged the people to continue supporting the BJP’s vision of “Viksit Bharat” and ensure that the nation stays on the path of economic progress.
