78th Independence Day 2024 held at Sub-Division Khaltse

August 15, 2024: The 78th Independence Day 2024 was celebrated at New Stadium of Sub-Division Khaltse with great enthusiasm. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Ms Kaneez Fatima unfurled the National Flag at 10:00 AM with National Anthem song presented by Govt. Hr. Sec. School Khaltse and Guard of honour presented by Ladakh Police Khaltse.

On the occasion, SDM Khaltse, Ms Kaneez Fatima, extended heartfelt congratulations to all the people of Khaltse Sub Division and said that, this day is a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless heroes and the unity that brought us freedom. She also highlighted the achievements of various departments during the occasion.

The Parade Commander for the event was Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Mohd Hussain, while the stirring renditions of the National Anthem and the band performance were delivered by the students of Government Higher Secondary School Khaltse.

On the occasion, Munsif Judge (Judicial Magistrate 1st class) Khaltse, Wangyal Tsering was also present during the event.

A total of 8 parade contingents participated in the march past, showcasing their discipline and coordination. These contingents included Moravian Mission School Khaltse, Lamdon Jamyang School Khaltse, Government Higher Secondary School Khaltse (Boys and Girls), Government Higher Secondary School Skurbuchan, Government High School Wanla, Government High School Lamayuru and Government Middle School Skurbuchan. ASI Mohd Hussain expertly commanded the parade proceedings.

The event was graced by the presence of SHO Khaltse, Namberdars, villagers as well as officers and officials from various department of the Sub-Division Khaltse were present during the event.

Similarly, the traditional cultural program by the artist groups from Khaltse and Lamayuru villages and cultural program by school students were also showcased during the event.

At end of program, today’s Chief guest distributed prizes to all the participants.
