8 absconders declared proclaimed offenders in Baramulla
In a move to expedite an old case, Baramulla Police secured orders from the Court of Additional Sessions Judge to declare eight individuals as proclaimed offenders. The proclamation order has been pasted at their residences and various public places.

The Additional Sessions Judge in Baramulla declared Hilal Ahmad Ganie, Mudasir Shafi Geelani, Mohd Maqbool Pandith, Habibullah Sheikh, Shabir Ahmad Najar, Mohd Ashraf Dar, Gh Nabi Najar, and Fayaz Ahmad Mir as proclaimed offenders in a case dating back to FIR No. 03/2008. These individuals, all residents of various areas in Pattan, were declared offenders on the application of Baramulla Police.
Despite efforts to locate and arrest them, the accused individuals are currently believed to be in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK)/Pakistan. Consequently, search warrants under Section 25 of the Police Act were obtained, but the accused remained elusive.
Proclamation orders under Section 87 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) have been issued by the Sub Judge in Pattan against the aforementioned individuals. These orders have been publicly displayed at their residences and other public areas.
They have been instructed to appear before the court within one month. Failure to do so will result in the initiation of property attachment proceedings under Section 88 of the CrPC.
