92.53 gm Heroin recovered, 3 peddlers arrested in Jammu’s RS Pura

JAMMU, 4 December 2024: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 92.53  grams of Heroin from three accused persons  in the area under the jurisdiction of PS RS Pura.

A police team of PS RS Pura led by SHO PS RS Pura while on patrolling duty at Khanna chak rounded up a suspected person later identified as Ashwani Kumar alias Kali S/o Mohinder Lal R/o Rangpur Sidhrey Tehsil Suchetgarh District Jammu. On search, 0.5 grams of Heroin was recovered from his possession. Further on his disclosure he disclosed that he brought it from a couple who were selling heroin to the locals of the area.

On this police teams raided at the suspected place and rounded up the accused couple later identified as Ankush Kumar S/o Baru Ram and Preeti W/o Ankush Kumar, both residing at present in Khanna Chak Tehsil R.S Pura District Jammu. During search, 51.28 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of accused namely Ankush Kumar and 40.75 grams of heroin from the possession of accused lady namely Preeti. In total, 92.53 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of three accused persons.

In this regard a case FIR No. 05/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29 of NDPS Act got registered in PS RS Pura and all the three accused were arrested.
