92 Sheep Units sanctioned under ISDS in district Ramban
RAMBAN, August 8: Department of Sheep Husbandry, Ramban, today selected 92 beneficiaries for providing them Sheep Units under Integrated Sheep Development Scheme (ISDS) 2023-24 (Participatory & Subsidy) mode.
As per the District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Ramban, Dr. Shabir Ahmed Khan, beneficiaries have been selected through draw of lots in presence of designated members nominated by the Directorate of Sheep Husbandry, Jammu and the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Ramban nominated by the district administration Ramban.
As many as 424 applications were received from different CD blocks of district Ramban under the said income generation scheme.
On the occasion, 83 beneficiaries were selected for establishment of Sheep and Goat units under subsidy mode, 08 beneficiaries were selected for establishment of sheep units under participatory mode and one beneficiary was selected for the establishment of shearing unit.
While congratulating the selected beneficiaries, the DSHO said that Ramban district has a huge potential for sheep farming as most of the population belong to farming communities.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer Ramban, Sheep and wool Development Officer Banihal, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Ramban and Technical Officer District Sheep Husbandry Office Ramban besides the interested beneficiaries were present on this occasion.
