DC Doda reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission
Plans daily virtual visit of works
DODA, April 09: Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan, who also serves as Chairman of the District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) under the Jal Jeevan Mission, reviewed the implementation of the mission in the district in a meeting held at the district headquarters.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised adherence to timelines for all projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission and ensuring that citizens are provided with safe drinking water in their homes as envisaged in the scheme.
The meeting was informed that out of 185 tendered projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, 150 have been allotted, Letters of Intent have been issued for 9 works, and work is ongoing on 137 projects. All Jal Jeevan Mission works must be completed by the end of June this year, emphasised the DC.
Engineers of the Jal Shakti Department in Doda have been instructed to send their tour calendars to their work sites and the Deputy Commissioner will personally visit Jal Jeevan Mission works virtually every day at 5pm. Assistant Executive Engineers have been instructed to visit concerned Divisional Forest Officers tomorrow to resolve issues for the smooth completion of Water Supply Schemes passing through forest areas.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, CPO, SE Jal Shakti, Ex Ens of JSD/ Irrigation/ Ground Water/ Mechanical, DFO Doda/ Bhaderwah/ Batote, AEEs, AEs, and JEs of JSD and other concerned officials.
