DDC Pulwama chairs DLRC meeting; reviews performance of Banks
Urges stakeholders to focus on priority sector
PULWAMA, April 13: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary today convened the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of the district, here.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on CD ratios of the banks, identification of beneficiaries, flow of credit, assistance under Government sponsored schemes, performances of banks under District Credit Plan (DCP), achievements made under the above said Quarter, monitoring initiatives and Credit Plus activities.
It was given out that under Agriculture, Education and Housing Sectors, banks have disbursed an amount of Rs 650.33 crore, 3.69 crores and 84.12 crores respectively. Under medium, small and micro enterprises, Rs. 226.43 crores have been disbursed against the annual target of 239.38 crores. An amount of 616.29 crores of loan has been sanctioned to weaker sections.
Regarding the Year-wise achievements of targets under priority & non-priority sectors, an amount of 1556.75 crores have been disbursed by Q3 (FY2022-23).
The DDC impressed upon the bankers to put in added efforts to increase the CD ratio by focusing on potential areas and stressed on better coordination between banks and government departments for bringing improvement in CD ratio.
He directed for ensuring balanced lending in all key sectors to promote equitable growth and also emphasized upon the heads of the financial institutions to spread awareness with regard to the welfare schemes sponsored by them among masses so that people can avail benefit for their socio-economic development.
The DDC stressed for a self reliant and sustainable Agriculture and Horticulture sector. He hailed the role of agriculture and horticulture sectors in creating self-reliant and sustainable employment in the district.
He emphasized on the priority sector lending with a special focus on education, women development and agriculture allied sectors and directed concerned officials to organize the financial literacy camps in every block of the district and stressed upon the bankers and concerned officers to adopt public friendly approach and work in coordination so that good results are achieved at the grass roots level.
The DDC praised the credit planning exercise of NABARD for preparing Potential Linked Credit Plans (PLPs) for the district.
Furthermore, in this meeting JKB RSETI was instructed to diversify the courses for productive results and also provide a platform for training Khidmat centers and CSCs.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Pulwama, Dr Sheikh Abdul Aziz, ADC Pulwama, Awantipora & Tral, ACD Pulwama, ACR Pulwama, Chief Planning Officer Pulwama, ACP Pulwama, Lead District Manager, Cluster Head JK Bank, NABARD, representatives of various banks, DIC, KVIB, KVIC, Deptt of Agriculture, District Coordinators, all Tehsildars, BDOs, other Heads of various Government Departments and sponsoring agencies.
