JKAACL: Folk music shines on the 2nd day of Music Festival

Jammu, Dec 28: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL), under the guidance of Shri Bharat Singh (JKAS), Secretary (JKAACL), has successfully organised the second day of the four-day Music festival at Abhinav Theatre, JKAACL premises, in Jammu. More than 75 artists from across the region are performing in four-day musical extravaganza. The second day of the festival was primarily dedicated to regional folk music.

The event began with Gojri music renditions of Shahida parveen & Party from Rajouri. Then onwards, Master Kartar Chand & Party drove the senses of the audience to the mountains with their Pahari folk narratives weaved into music. Further, Nisar Hussain Doolwal & Party from Kishtwar mesmerized the audience with Kishtwari folk music.

Kala Ram & Party reenergized the event with their power-pack Qawwali. And finally, Dilsher Singh and Party from Kathua rendered the audience with Punjabi folk music. All these artists spellbound the audience with their musical performances. Parveen Sharma conducted the proceedings on the second day of the Music Festival.

On Thursday, 29th December 2022, the music festival is predominantly dedicated to the Sufi music. The audience exuberantly enjoyed the of the musical presentations by the renowned artists. The Cultural Academy’s effort in promoting cultural sensitivities is receiving appreciation from the artists fraternity.
