Mainstreaming of Out of School Children in next few days
KISHTWAR, April 18: The endline test for “Out of School children” was successfully conducted across the four zones of district Kishtwar here under the guidance and overall superintendence of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav.
As many as 1347 OoSC appeared in the test which was conducted successfully across the 54 OoSC Centres which were earlier made functional by district administration Kishtwar in collaboration with the education department. Around 98 teachers were deployed to impart education to OoSC at designated centres exclusively opened for them.
Under “Taalash” survey, conducted by Government of Jammu and Kashmir, near about 1800 OoSC were mapped by education department in district Kishtwar out of which more than 1400 were enrolled in winter coaching centres across the four zones of the district and immediately a baseline test was also conducted for them with the motive to find out their level and the interventions needed. After that a sufficient time with regard to imparting education was given to them during the winter season through specially designed Bridge course and finally today the end line test was conducted for their mainstreaming via their formal schooling in next few days in their age-appropriate classes based on a functional grade system.
The questionnaires/MCQs prepared by DIET Kishtwar under the supervision of Chief Education Officer and Principal DIET was set class wise/age wise for all levels based on four subjects vis Mathematics, English, EVS and Urdu with the aim to find out the level of the child and after evaluation the mainstreaming of OoSC in schools will be initiated within next few days.
Pertinent to mention here that all out-of-school-children who appeared today are scheduled tribes and vulnerable sections of the society for whom district administration along with the education department is toiling hard for their mainstreaming.
Earlier in the day Chief Education Officer Kishtwar Shri Prahlad Bhagat along with all Zonal Education officers and Principal DIET interacted with teachers, school authorities and invigilators with the only focus to ensure smooth conduct of endline test which was conducted by them with sincerity and transparency.
