Chairman DPAP Ghulam Nabi Azad greets people on Buddha Purnima

SRINAGAR, May 4: Former Chief Minister of J&K and Chairman of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday extended greetings on the auspicious day of Buddha Purnima and hoped that the occasion would augur peace, progress, and prosperity all over.

Azad said that the festival of Buddha Purnima is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Siddhartha Gautam, the founder of Buddhism and known as Gautam Buddha.

In his message of felicitation, Azad described Lord Buddha as an apostle of peace whose message of ‘Ahimsa’ assumes greater significance today.
