DC Rajouri reviews performance of line departments on Good Governance Index
RAJOURI, May 04: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today presided over a meeting to review the performance of the departments on District Good Governance Index (DGGI).
Detailed deliberations were held on the sector wise performance of different departments including Agriculture and Allied departments, Commerce & Industries, Human Resource Development, Public Health, Public Infrastructure & Utilities, Economic Governance, Social Welfare & Development, Judicial & Public Security, Environment and Citizen-Centric Governance under Good Governance Index.
Addressing the officers, the DDC said that the Good Governance Index is a uniform tool to assess the status of Governance and the impact of various interventions of the Government on the ground. He asked the officers to analyse the last Good Governance Index to address the existing gaps and plan a strategy to bridge these gaps to achieve the desired results.
He also stressed the need for continuous monitoring and evaluation of governance indicators to identify areas for improvement and take corrective measures. He encouraged all departments to work collaboratively and adopt innovative approaches to further enhance governance practices in the district.
The DDC also asked the concerned officers to put in place added efforts to provide best possible services to the common masses so that they don’t face any inconveniences. He also talked about the measures being put in place by the Government to ensure transparency and accountability in its functioning.
The concerned officers were directed to ensure that necessary benefits under different schemes and programs are percolated to the last beneficiary of the district.
The DDC also emphasized the importance of achieving physical and financial targets within the set timelines to provide necessary benefits to the general public. The meeting also focused on the need for a prompt, smooth and hassle-free public service delivery mechanism in the district.
