DC discusses establishment of District Disability Rehabilitation Centre in Ramban

RAMBAN, DECEMBER 30: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting to discuss modalities for the establishment of the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) in the district.

The meeting was attended by ADC, Harbans Lal; CMO, Dr. Kamal Zadoo; DSWO, Rahul Gupta; CDPO,   Ravindra Kour and other officers. After detailed deliberations, the meeting decided to establish the facility of the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre in the premises of the District Hospital.

It was informed that the centre would have the provision for multiple therapies like aqua therapy, yoga therapy, music therapy, and language therapy, besides a prosthetics production unit as well. The persons with disability will also be imparted skills which will help them to improve their livelihood, the meeting was told.

The DC said that the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) is an initiative of the Government to facilitate comprehensive services to Persons with Disabilities. 

He also reviewed the progress of registration of PwDs for issuing Unique Disability ID (UDID). The DC directed the concerned officers to cover all the beneficiaries to achieve 100% registration under this scheme.
