Day 2 of Moungri Mela: Cultural programme mesmerize devotees
UDHAMPUR, MAY 16: On the 2nd day of three- day annual Shiv-Parvati Moungri Mela, thousands of visitors and devotees from within and outside the district thronged to Mela site and paid their obeisance to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva.
To entertain the pilgrim-visitors and further strengthen the warm ties of mutual love and understanding amongst different sections of the society, a scintillating cultural programme was presented by the DIPR Udhampur in collaboration with the Cultural Wing of DIPR J&K.
The artists of the Information Department, renowned local artists of the area and students participated in the programme.
Tehsildar Moungri , Narinder Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Department of Youth Services & Sports, in collaboration with the Education Department, organized rural sports activities.
The district administration has made adequate arrangements of water, electricity, healthcare, security, transport etc for the successful conduct of the mela.
An awareness stalls were also put up by various departments on the occasion.
A number of temporary sweet shops, toy shops and other eatery corners have been put up by the local and outside vendors which were one of the main attractions for the general public visiting the Mela site.
During the Mela, checking of rates and quality of eatables is being strictly maintained by a team of officers.
Among others, Naib Tehsildar Moungri, Karnail Singh, Block Development Officer, Moungri, Zonal Physical Education Officer, and other officials of different departments besides youth and local Mela Committee members were present on the occasion.
