DC Poonch reviews progress of SAMAGRA Shiksha development works

POONCH, MAY 24: Deputy Commissioner, Yasin M. Choudhary chaired a meeting today to review the progress of development works under SAMAGRA Shiksha.

During the meeting, Joint Director School Education Department Mohd Ashraf Choudhary presented a Power Point Presentation on SAMAGRA Shiksha profile of district and briefed about the progress made under different construction and non-construction components.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for quickly raising improved infrastructure of schools and completing all approved infrastructure works within the stipulated time frame. The Assistant Executive Engineer Div 4th was directed to immediately put the approved works on tenders and ensure their completion at the earliest.

The meeting also discussed construction works being executed by various departments under different schemes. The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon proper implementation of PM POSHAN (Mid Day Meal) with quality meal in schools and the completion of construction works on priority to provide better accommodation for providing quality education to the students.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the Chief Education Officer to ensure installation of swings and slides for recreation of school children in all primary/middle schools. The completion of tendering and allotment within 15 days was also emphasised by the Deputy Commissioner.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director School Education Poonch-Rajouri, Mohammad Ashraf Choudhary; Chief Planing Officer, Maqsood Ahmed; Chief Education Officer, Bishamber Dass; District Education Planing Officer, Narinder Mohan Suri besides Zonal Education Officers and concerned officers were also present.
