Zonal Level Inter Middle School Tournament begins in Khaltse & Nubra zone

Leh, May 31: The Zonal Level Inter School Tournament for Middle Schools of Khaltse and Nubra zone, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Leh, commenced from today at Govt Higher Secondary School, Khaltse and Govt Higher Secondary School, Nubra respectively.  

In Khaltse zone, 19 Middle Schools with 244 students are participating in the tournament and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khaltse, Suhail Ahmed presided as the chief guest. Tehsildar Khaltse; Zonal Education Planning Officer, Khaltse; Block Medical Officer, Khaltse; Block Veterinary Officer, Khaltse and Principal, GHSS Khaltse were also present.

A Handball match was played between Middle School Mahabodhi and Middle School Skurbuchan in which MS Mahabodhi won by 11-3. In the Volleyball match, Lamdon School Khaltse won against Middle School Lehdo by 2-0.  

In Nubra zone, a total of 20 Middle Schools are part of the tournament which was inaugurated by Lecturer, Physical Education, GHSS Diskit.

During the Zonal Level tournament various other activities such as Archery, Discuss Throw, Shot put  along with 100mtr, 200mtr and 3km race would also be organised.
