JKWDMA delegation calls on Dr Samoon, takes up establishment of Wool Development, Marketing platform

JAMMU, January 02: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Wool Development Marketing Association (JKWDMA) led by its chairman Romesh Khajuria today called on Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon here at Civil Secretariat

Chairman JKWDMA elaborated about various issues pertaining to established of wool development and marketing platform in J&K with processing facility by the J&K government through PPP mode.

He said that the objective of JKDWA is to promote livelihood of the people living in villages and urban areas with the support of SDD to generate employment opportunities in woolen sector.

Dr Samoon said that the woolen industry has vast scope in J&K as the handmade woolen cloths have good quality with huge demand in the country and overseas market as well.  

Dr Samoon called for encouraging this handicrafts and skills of the artisans through promotion of skill development centers so that youth of Jammu and Kashmir would choose this vocation as a profession for their livelihood.

Founder Director JKWDMA, Bilal Ahmad Kawoosa, was also present on the occasion.
