Two-day animal birth control, anti-rabies vaccination camp conducted at Khaltse
Leh, June 7: In an effort to address the growing concerns related to stray dogs and prevent the spread of rabies, the Animal Husbandry Department recently organised a two-day Animal Birth Control (ABC) and Anti-Rabies Vaccination Camp at sub-division Khaltse.
Block Veterinary Officer (BVO) Khaltse, Dr. Seraaj Din informed that the primary objective of the camp was to control the population of stray animals through sterilization and provide them with essential anti-rabies vaccinations. He assured that they will try to achieve maximum sterilization of stray dogs in the two-day camp.
Further, he emphasized the importance of sterilization and vaccination in maintaining a healthy and harmonious environment for all.
Alongside sterilizations, the veterinarians administered anti-rabies vaccinations to stray dogs. It was informed that a total of 46 stray dogs were sterilized and vaccinated against rabies till 2:00 PM.
Doctors and officials from the Animal Husbandry Department Leh, and officials from Block Veterinary Office Khaltse were present during the camp.
