DC reviews status of routine immunization in Doda District

Asks field staff to synergise efforts to create mass awareness & reduce dropout to 0%  

DODA, June 12: To take the appraisal of the health department activities and to review the status of Routine Immunization in the District, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Mahajan, who is also Chairman of District Task Force for Immunization (DTFI), today convened a meeting of all the member of DTFI here in the DC Office Complex.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Pran Singh; ADC, Dr RK Bharti; CPO, Suresh Kumar; Chief Medical Officer, Dr Hamid Zargar; Dy CMO, Dr Om Kumar; Block Medical Officers (All) and other Block Level staff associated with the Immunization process.

At the outset, the DC took a detailed review of the latest status of the Routine Immunization and achievements thereof, category wise, and block wise vaccination.

The Dy CMO gave a detailed presentation on the component wise achievements of Routine Immunization, and briefed the chair about the block wise status and action taken by the department to cover all the dropout children of different age groups.

It was reported that from 1st April 2022 to 31 March this year,  7552 live births were reported in the district and are being followed for 100% routine immunization. He said that efforts are being made to cover the dropouts in the process.

The Deputy Commissioner enjoined upon the CMO and all the concerned to work in close coordination to make the Routine Immunization programme successful in the District. He asked to put in extra measures to ensure that no measles case appears among children in the district and all the left out children are immunized.

He further asked the field staff including Anganwadi Workers, ASHAs, Health workers, Teachers and other stakeholders to synergise their efforts to create awareness about measles and other such diseases & to reduce dropout to 0% under the routine immunization in the district

The DC directed the stakeholders and those present in the meeting to conduct special immunization sessions in the left out areas to cover all drop out children in a time bound manner.
