DIET Doda, Pratham Collaborate to Empower Grade 1-3 Mothers with Developmental Skills Workshop – Part 2
DODA, JUNE 13: District Institute of Education Research & Training (DIET), in collaboration with Pratham Education Foundation Doda, on Tuesday organized the second empowering workshop for mothers of children in grades 1, 2, and 3. The workshop, held across 10 educational zones in District Doda, aimed to discuss the developmental skills goals of NIPUN BHARAT and FLN.
Acknowledging the crucial role of mothers in their children’s lives, the workshop emphasized the importance of their involvement in nurturing and shaping their young ones. The first five years of a child’s life are a critical period for brain development, as synaptic networks are still forming. During this stage, children are highly receptive to human contact and interaction, making it essential for parents to engage them in cognitive, social, and emotional activities that will shape their future selves.
The workshop highlighted the significance of maintaining communication between mothers and their child’s teacher. By staying updated on their child’s classroom learning, mothers can reinforce and transfer this knowledge in the home setting. This collaborative approach extends the teaching beyond the classroom, resulting in a more positive learning experience for children. Ultimately, it helps children perform better in school, fostering their confidence and overall ability.
Prominent attendees at the workshop included Chief Education Officer Doda, Purahotam Gouria, Principal DIET Doda, Sandhra Malhotra, Pratham District Coordinator Pankaj Sharma, District Nodal Officer Janbhagidari, Kismat Singh, and Asstt. Technical District Nodal Officer, Chander Parkash. Their presence and active participation further strengthened the commitment to empowering mothers and leveraging their vital role in their child’s education.
These community meetings and mother’s workshops represent a continued effort to bridge the gap between government schools and communities. By bringing together education professionals, mothers, and other stakeholders, these workshops contribute to achieving the goals of NIPUN BHARAT and FLN. They also foster a strong partnership between schools and families, leading to the holistic development of children and the realization of educational targets.
The collaboration between DIET Doda and Pratham exemplifies their dedication to equipping mothers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively support their children’s learning journey. By nurturing a strong bond between schools and communities, we move closer to the vision of NIPUN BHARAT and FLN, ensuring a brighter future for our children.
