Netflix officially renews ‘XO, Kitty’ for second season

Los Angeles, Jun 15 (PTI) Netflix has renewed “XO, Kitty”, the spin-off series of its popular film franchise “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”, for a second season.
Fronted by Anna Cathcart, the first chapter of the show premiered on the streamer on May 18.
Netflix announced the news of the series renewal on its official Twitter page on Wednesday night with a short video featuring the ensemble cast.

“Pssst… XO, Kitty has been renewed for Season 2!!! Pass it on,” the streamer said in the tweet. “XO, Kitty” follows Cathcart’s titular character, first introduced to the viewers in the “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” film trilogy as Lara-Jean Covey (Lana Condor)’s younger sister whose mischief kickstarts her romance with Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), her high-school classmate. The movies are based on the books by Jenny Han, who also serves as creator on the series. According to Netflix, season one of the series follows a new love story unfold “when teen matchmaker Kitty (Cathcart) reunites with her long-distance boyfriend at the same boarding school attended by her late mother.”

Minyeong Choi, Gia Kim, Sang Heon Lee, Anthony Keyvan, Peter Thurnwald, Yunjin Kim, Michael K Lee, Jocelyn Shelfo and Regan Aliyah also round out the cast of the show.
Set in the US and South Korea, “XO, Kitty” also features John Corbett and Sarayu Blue, who reprise their characters of Dan, Kitty’s father, and Trina, Kitty’s stepmother, respectively.
